Living in Maze Hill: A Historical Side of Greenwich

Blog London Lifestyle

Bordering the stunning Greenwich Park and closely located to the River Thames, Maze Hill is a green retreat within the Greenwich area. Living in Maze Hill, you’ll have an abundance of scenic spaces, traditional pubs and iconic museums right on your doorstep.

The main Maze Hill Overground station easily connects the area with other parts of South London, including a 30-minute commute to Tower Hill. Nearby Greenwich and trendy Deptford are within walkable distance. Believed to have been named after the 17th-century resident Sir Algernon May, Maze Hill (a historical misspelling of ‘May’s Hill’) is still rich in history today, making it a good choice if you are looking for a side of London with character.

Greenwich Park

One of London’s biggest and most popular Royal Parks, Greenwich Park is a beautiful expanse of green space, picturesque gardens and historical landmarks. The hilly terrain offers views across the River Thames — a delight to behold at sunrise and sunset.

Stretching across 183 acres, the park is a relaxing retreat away from the bustle of the city. When you’re living in Maze Hill, you’ll be well located to the One Tree Hill Vista Point, playground and Millennium Sun Dial. Ideal for dog walkers, runners, picnickers and athletic enthusiasts, you will always find a secluded spot or new route to follow in the park. Or visit one of the many museums housed within the park, such as The Royal Observatory, and stand on the famed Prime Meridian.
