Marlow sits high on the list when it comes to picturesque towns. Alongside Henley-on-Thames, it’s a favourite weekend spot for Londoners thanks to its scenic settings. But if you’re living in Marlow, there’s more to this riverside town than postcard-perfect looks.

It's a town steeped in history, and somewhere that offers an alternative to the capital's hustle and bustle. Some might even argue that Marlow provides a better work-life balance than the Big Smoke. Even with a slower pace of life, there's still plenty to do in this Buckinghamshire town.

The Hand and Flowers

The first-ever pub with two Michelin-stars, The Hand and Flowers is from Tom Kerridge. The friendly, cosy atmosphere is a complete 180 from your typical Michelin-starred restaurant, but that only adds to the charm.

Everyone’s welcome at The Hand and Flowers, and there’s a scrumptious menu on offer with delights like loin of Cotswold venison and traditional Sunday roasts. And if you eat so much food that you find it hard to move, there’s a hotel on hand at The Hand and Flowers. Handy.
